FAQs

IMG-3339.JPG

Are dogs or other pets allowed in the museums?
Given the nature of our historic buildings, and because we hold a food license for processing flour, only service animals trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability are permitted on tours and in the museums. We cannot allow other dogs, pets, or animals, including those whose sole function is to provide comfort, emotional support, companionship, or therapy.

How long does the tour last?

  • Vermeer Windmill, guided: 45 minutes to an hour

  • Historical Village, self-guided: Some guests spend an hour, other spend the entire day. On average, you can expect to spend 1.5 - 3 hours in the Village.

  • Scholte House, self-guided: Guests usually spend 30-45 minutes exploring.

Once I've started my self-guided tour of the Historical Village, am I able to leave and come back?
Yes! We will stamp your arm so we know you've paid, allowing you to leave for lunch, a nap, shopping, or whatever else your day brings. You can come back to continue exploring anytime before we close that day!

Am I able to book my tour ahead of time?
Currently, we only sell tickets for all of our museums in person, day of. We are not able to sell tickets over the phone, online, in advance, or anything of that nature. Maria's Tea Room is the exception - reservations for a seating must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Can I bring a group to tour the museums?
Yes, we love to host group tours! If you have 10 or more people in your group, you might qualify for a special tour.
Please find our special tour policies here. If you'd like to begin the process of scheduling your group tour, fill out the form here.
